UAB Idiomes-Barcelona

UAB Idiomes-Barcelona, in Casa Convalescència, represents the incorporation of language teaching into the services offered by the university. This program combines university level teaching with the latest in new technologies, aiming at a broader and more diverse range of potential students and clients.

UAB Idiomes offers English, French, German and Italian courses for university credit. These courses are taught by a team of highly qualified teachers using the latest in multimedia classrooms with high quality installations and equipment.

The "In Company" department offers business courses for small groups, either in UAB Idiomes classrooms or on the company's own premises. These courses are custom designed to meet the needs and objectives of each company.

UAB Idiomes, in conjunction with the modern language service, Servei d'Idiomes Moderns de la UAB (SIM), offers a communications aptitude certificate (CRAC) designed to evaluate each individual's language abilities according to the scale designed by experts in the European Council.

UAB Idiomes also organizes courses in Catalan and Spanish for foreigners. These monthly courses also include cultural programs and activities.

Also available through UAB Idiomes is a variety of on-line correspondence language courses which include audio visual support material.

UAB's Modern Language Service regularly organizes general and specific courses at different levels in a variety of languages (customized and summer courses in particular), through UAB Idiomes-Campus and UAB Idiomes-Sabadell.

The Modern Language Service also offers a translation service and organizes proficiency tests, level accreditation and preparation for external examinations (UCLES, TOEFL, etc.) The university-qualified teaching staff specialize in teaching foreign languages, offering specific skills and in-depth experience.

UAB Idiomes-Campus and UAB Idiomes-Sabadell have classrooms equipped with audio-visual systems, an audio-visual language laboratory and a multi-media language laboratory, which uses the finest language learning programs.

In addition to its standard courses, UAB Idiomes-Campus and UAB Idiomes-Sabadell organize customized courses for groups with specific educational needs.
